It is difficult to say whether the successes of the women behind Losing it in Ottawa is equal to that of getting six mothers out on a Friday night, but I’m taking some credit for it, anyway.

What they are doing together and online requires tremendous courage.  So does the following.

Amazing location and adorable hats thanks to Workshop.  You need to go.

Barbara

Barbara has what I call “camera smile.”  Is that a camera?  Smile.  Same one.  Every time.  Catching her off-guard is pretty rewarding: Here’s proof.

Donna

Donna did not like my camera, no siree!  And yet, towards the end, they seem to have reached an accord.

Karen

Karen’s natural state is a generous laugh and twinkly eyes.  So you would be forgiven for missing her most extraordinary emeralds.  But you wouldn’t want to.

Lara

When I listed my criteria (and there was some) for this shoot, Lara had to bring the news to the others.  She did this, as well as the hat pictured below, with effortless aplomb.

Sara

Can you think of a single reason Sara shouldn’t always share that wonderful, perfect smile?  Me either.  Sara, listen to the internet.

Vicky

I’m pretty sure I could get Vicky naked.  But that’s a shoot for another time.  In this one, she was ebullient, and eager, and fun.  As you’ll notice.
